Moab Photography Workshops offers private and group landscape photography workshops in Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park and the surrounding Moab area. All workshops are led by local professional photographer Bret Edge.
In 1999 Bret and two friends traveled to Moab to experience the area's world-class mountain bike trails. He was immediately smitten. A couple dozen trips and seven years later, Bret finally landed in Moab for good with his wife, Melissa and their All-Terrain Pug, Bierstadt. An avid adventurer, he immediately began exploring this dramatic new landscape with his camera. In the last eight years Bret has discovered dozens of stunning locations - some iconic and others well off the beaten path. He has developed an intimate knowledge of the subtle changes in Moab's seasonal light. He has learned when and where to find the area's best wildflowers and most colorful autumn foliage. It is this knowledge and experience combined with a passion for helping other photographers break through creative barriers that allows Bret to deliver world-class photography workshops.
As a former corporate trainer in the investment industry, Bret developed and delivered a comprehensive curriculum of educational seminars for employees of the firm's retirement account and equity compensation clients. Though Bret's current classroom is much less formal and certainly more scenic, he takes his job as an educator seriously.
Bret led his first private photography workshop in Moab in 2007. Since then, he's worked with dozens of photographers at private and group photography workshops throughout the Rocky Mountain Region. Bret enjoys working with other photographers to help them overcome barriers to discovering their own creative freedom.
